I’ve been a busy Dane the last 3 weeks which has also made me one tired puppy!
My humans and I spent one night at a ghost town in California called Calico. I didn’t see any ghosts but we stayed in the campground next to the town. Just to be safe I insisted on being in the trailer while my humans sat outside eating their dinner in the dark. The area was a silver mine in the 1880’s but was abandoned in the 1890’s. Dogs are allowed into the historic area for $1 unless you are a service dog, they’re free.
First balloon rally of the summer
We didn’t go into the actual ghost town since we needed to get back on the road to get to Salina, Utah and the Eyes to the Sky Balloon Festival.
It rained on the first day that of the balloon rally. Later in the day I got to meet up with my friend Abbey for a walk at the Fremont Indian State Park. The next two days of the balloon rally my humans got to fly their balloon and I chased in the truck.
After the rally we drove to the Red Canyon campground just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park. My feet were getting a bit sore, the ground here isn’t like the cement in San Diego. I ended up having to wear one of my boots till a sore on my foot healed.
After a night at Red Canyon it was off to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I’ll write about that soon.
