Bryce Canyon National Park changed its pet policy

This post has been updated from its original form and for a good reason.  My paw rating for Bryce went from a 1-paw to a 3-paw.  The change is because now there are 2 pet friendly trails!

  1. A short section of the Rim trail between Sunrise and Sunset points.
  2. The shared use trail which is also for bikes and wheelchairs. The trail starts just outside the park entrance and travels 5 miles to Inspiration Point.
  3. All the paved view points are also OK for pets.

Hoodoos

Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon known for its brightly colored hoodoos.  Visiting the park at sunrise or sunset is the best time to experience the colors of the landscape and the hoodoos.

An added bonus lies just outside the west entrance to Bryce Canyon, Red Canyon State Park.  As with most (possibly all) Utah state parks, pets are welcome.  There is a nice campground, dog friendly trails and a bike trail that connects to shared trail at the park’s shuttle parking lot.

While the park’s pet policies don’t encourage you to bring your pet they do at least offer some options now.
