Don't you hate seeing the words "No Dogs Allowed"?
I have spent time writing about parks which welcome dogs but there are some parks which do not allow them at all. Overall there really aren’t very many and most of them are historical sites or memorials. Concerns for the local wildlife on the Channel Islands and Isle Royale have brought about the regulations for those parks.
Inadvertent transmission of disease
In 1980, the wolf population at Isle Royale National Park plummeted from 50 to 14 from canine parvovirus which was likely brought to the island by a pet dog.
Similarly the Channel Island foxes are vulnerable to mainland diseases and parasites due to their isolation.
