Del Mar Dog beach is the place
The 14th annual surf dog surf-a-thon will take place this Sunday, September 8th, at Del Mar Dog beach. I have photographed a number of these in the past and I usually can’t stop laughing and cheering. Photographing from the water allows for a better perspective but can be exhausting having to jump the waves all day.
Proceeds help orphaned pets
The event is free to attend but donations, which benefit the orphan pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center, are encouraged.
Surf-a-thon events have gotten extremely popular over the years. Expect the event to be crowded and if you take your dog take lots of fresh water and foot protection, the sand gets hot.
