The year is almost over and I’ve learned that humans have a tradition of making New Year’s resolutions. I thought I would help you out with my dog inspired New Year’s resolutions. These are things that I, as a Great Dane, think are important for you humans to remember.
1. Take more naps
Great Danes are expert nappers. I have my own bed in every room so that I can always nap in whichever room my humans are in.

2. Get your zoomies out
Nothing feels better than a crazy run around to get rid of pent up energy. A regular dose of exercise is healthy for dogs and humans. My favorite ways to get exercise are heading to the park or the beach.

3. Live in the moment
Humans seem to spend a lot of time regretting the past or stressing about the future and miss the opportunity to enjoy the now.

4. Celebrate your “good dog” acts
When you get something right no matter how big or small, take time to celebrate it. Maybe with a cookie or peanut butter Kong.
5. Be joyful. and wag more
For us dogs a good tail wag or roll in the grass lets the world know we are happy. I know you humans don’t have tails, I’m sorry because there is nothing like a happy tail wag to let everyone know you feel good.

6. Love unconditionally
I love my humans. They feed me and walk me and let me sleep on the bed (some of the time). They take me to fun places and let me explore the world with them. We are a pack. Love your pack just the way they are.

7. Snore loudly
I snore, I admit it. I also sometime howl in my sleep.

8. Find the sunny spot
Need I say more?
9. Sniff everything
Curiosity may have killed a cat but not us dogs. Be curious, explore more, find new adventures, make new friends.

10. Pee on what’s yours
Don’t do this literally, you’ll get in trouble, I did. Find what you want in the coming year and hold on to it. Whether it is, having more fun, travel, or quiet time, make it a priority and make it yours. You don’t need to actually pee on it though.
I hope these dog inspired New Year’s resolutions help you have a great new year.
