The 7th annual Loews Coronado Surf Dog Competition was held June 16th in Imperial Beach. It was my first time at this particular event, I’ve been to some of the other surf dog competition, but Loews is the one that started it all. The day started with our usual June gloom, low clouds for those of you not familiar with southern California weather. The sun eventually came out and the waves proved challenging for many of the competitors.
Here are highlights from the competition
The day started with a Guinness world record of the most dogs surfing on one board at one time, the final count was somewhere between 14 and 19 which shatters the previous 8.
