The Flying Dane
Every 2 years a pilot needs to go through the process of a flight review with a flight instructor. On Sunday Ernie was having his flight review which meant there…
Ballooning dogs are dogs that engage in hot air ballooning. Many hot air balloon pilots are dog owners and we like to take our dogs with us. Most dogs remain in the chase vehicle and don’t fly but there are some dogs that do fly with their owners. One of our Great Danes, Varel, did fly three times during her life. She would spend the hour of flight standing and looking out from the basket. Don’t worry, she was secured in the basket in multiple ways for her safety and my piece of mind.
Bandit the Balloon Dog frequently flies with his owner.
Ballooning might not seem to be a dog friendly sport but there are plenty of dogs that enjoy it. As with any new activity, if you introduce your Great Dane to it at their pace they can learn to enjoy it.
