I got to go to dog beach today! Yay! I absolutely love the beach. Lots of dogs, sand, water, room to run, what’s not to love. My human even found a good parking spot so we got to spend more time on the sand and less time walking there.
Don’t drink the water
The one thing I always seem to get in trouble for at the beach is drinking the water. I don’t get it, it’s everywhere, although it does taste a bit funny. My human brings along a bottle with a water dish and I’m supposed to only drink that water. Sometimes other humans offer me water and I can drink that but I’m not supposed to drink the ‘bad water’ that is everywhere. Humans have silly rules.
After the beach
After the beach I have to endure a couple things. The first is getting brushed down before getting back in my car. We live in San Diego where fresh water is limited. Instead of beach showers there are brush stations so the sand doesn’t all go home on me. My human thought the brush was such a good idea that now there is one in our car.
The second after beach thing I must endure is a shower. I get a treat when I get in the shower and another when we are done. There used to be peanut butter on the wall when I was a young pup and a little bit afraid of the shower. Once I’m in the shower I don’t have to worry about slipping because there are rubber mats on the floor of the tub.
My humans say I smell better after a shower but we all know that dogs have a superior sense of smell, so what do they know? They like how the green tea and bergamot shampoo makes me smell and if they’re happy then I’m happy. As the saying goes “happy humans, happy dog”.
See ya at the beach.
