I was recently reminded, by Facebook memories, that at this time last year we had made the incredibly hard decision to remove K’Ehleyr’s leg to relieve her of the pain caused by bone cancer or osteosarcoma. We all had a lot to learn and adjust to but she was amazing, she was standing within 12 hours after surgery and walked out of the vet office the following day. I don’t want you to think it was easy, it took a ton of patience and my heart broke every time I saw her shoulder muscles move trying to give me her paw that wasn’t there. I was glad to be able to be home with her but it was mostly her stubborn nature which helped her deal with the changes.
She spent her last 6 months as a tripawd
